BEIJING Derwin James Jersey , Jan. 7 (Xinhuanet)？-- American SpaceX called off its planned flight to the International Space Station because of rocket trouble, according to media report on Wednesday.
The unmanned Falcon rocket was supposed to blast off before sunrise, but the countdown was halted with just over a minute remaining.
According to NASA, actuator drift on the rocket's second-stage thrust vector control system occurred late in the countdown, automatically triggering the abort.
The Dragon capsule aboard the rocket contains some than 2,500 kg of supplies and experiments ordered up by NASA. That's the primary objective for SpaceX.
But the California-based company was to attempt an even more extraordinary feat once the Dragon is on its way: flying the booster rocket to a platform in the Atlantic. No one has ever pulled off such a touchdown.
SpaceX billionaire founder Elon Musk says recovering and reusing rockets could speed up launches and drive down costs.
The soonest time for SpaceX to try again is Friday morning, provided the problem can be fixed by then.

KIEV, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine has been approved to export sunflower meals and sugar beet pulp to China, State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection said in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has approved seven Ukrainian companies for sunflower meals deliveries and two Ukrainian companies for sugar beet pulp supplies.
Sunflower meals and sugar beet pulp are widely used as valuable feed for farm animals, especially for beef cattle and chicken.
This year, China has allowed beef imports from Ukraine and increased the list of certified Ukrainian dairy suppliers from 18 to 27.
Ukraine also hopes to get a green light from China on fish products exports by the end of this year.
According to the Ukrainian statistics, between 2012 and 2016, the trade turnover in agriculture products between Ukraine and China had increased by fivefold to 1.03 billion U.S. dollars.
BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The No.17 metro line in Beijing, the longest rail line under construction in Beijing, will be operational in 2021, municipal authorities said Wednesday.
The line, at 49.7 km, starts from Beijing Future Science Park in Changping and goes down to the southeastern part of the city in Yizhuang. It has 20 stops and designed speed of 100 km per hour, according to the Beijing Major Projects Construction Headquarters Office.
The line, which runs through the districts of Changping, Chaoyang, Dongcheng and Tongzhou, will take pressure off existing metro lines, the office said.
Relocation of residents is underway, the office said.
